Charlotte Hornets Look to Pick Up Rare Road Win
Charlotte was unable to maintain their momentum after taking down Golden State as they fell to the Clippers. The Hornets look to get back on track on this four game trip as they face the Kings. Charlotte trailed by seven after the opening quarter, rallied to take a 10 point halftime lead and then was outscored 33-14 in the third quarter. The Hornets were unable to make a comeback late and took the loss. Charlotte shot 38.7 percent from the field and went 11 of 33 from beyond the arc. Kemba Walker led the Hornets with 30 points: only 10 came in the second half.
Sacramento Kings Continue Six Game Homestand
Sacramento dropped to 1-2 on their six game homestand as they were unable to beat a tired Memphis team. The Kings look to even their mark with a win here. Sacramento was never in the game as they were down 14 after the first quarter, 18 at the half and 27 after three quarters before making a run in garbage time. The Kings shot 43 percent from the field, nine of 24 from three point range and 13 of 25 at the free throw line. Sacramento allowed Memphis to shoot 53.6 percent in the contest. Willie Cauley-Stein led the Kings with 21 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
Charlotte is 1-1 on their four game road trip but the fact remains that they aren’t a good road team. The Hornets come into this one just 3-13 on the road on the year. While Sacramento is no powerhouse at home, posting a 6-10 record, they are in the middle of a six game homestand right now. The Kings are 1-2 on the homestand but they do own a win over Cleveland during this stretch. Look for Sacramento to find a way to come up with a win here: take the points as a bonus.
Pick: Sacramento Kings +4.5*
